There are so many fun and adventurous things from zip lining to horseback riding. Here are a couple highlights of our favorite things to do!
Cool River Adventures
If you are looking for something that most of the family can enjoy, than here is the place to go! Cool River adventure course has their "Little Adventures" which is 5 element adventures course that includes a walk the plank, taco net, wacky way, leaning walk wall, and tube sled. Then it finishes with a small zip line! Minimum weight for this is 40lbs. My sons first time doing this was when he just turned 4 and he had to complete it with an adult but he loved it! He has done it numerous times since then and finally now at age 6 1/2 he can complete the little adventure course on his own! If your kids are on the course and get stuck, staff is there to guide them through or jump on the course and help if needed.
Then they have a "Big Adventure" course which has minimum of 70lbs, children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult but 6+ can go solo. This course is definitely HIGHER and more difficult and has 10 elements to complete! It has more difficult obstacles to concur which definitely add a little fear because of the height. But we had a 9 year in our group complete it with no problem!
Finally, they have the "Extreme Adventures" course also has a minimum weight limit of 70lbs. This course includes 13 elements and crosses the Chattahoochee River. This course is definitely a tough challenge so be sure you are up for it (and not afraid of heights)!
In addition to the adventure course, they also have a 24 foot climbing wall that is for both kids and adults and zip lining! The Zip Lining is for kids & adults. Kids 12 & under must be accompanied by an adult. This isn't long or extremely high and it crosses the Chattahoochee. This is the perfect beginners course!
Lastly, Cool River Adventures is my favorite spot for tubing!! They have 2 lengths down the river incase you have littles and don't want to do the entire trek. Pro Tip: if you are traveling with a group park one car at the end of the river and one at the beginning, that way you don't have to right the crammed shuttle buses and can go at your own pace!
Georgia Mountain Coaster
This fairly new attraction in Helen that is SUPER fun! You can hit speeds of over 28+ miles over an hour! The coaster itself is pretty short but that is because of how fast you go. Bet you can't hit the brake! I will be honest, I have only been to the coaster once to ride but my son and husband go often! Anytime we have people in town this is a must for us! I just normally get stuck with the baby :) I will admit during peak seasons, this DOES get really busy so arrive when they open or during meal times. PRO Tip: Ride it twice! Your second trip is 1/2 off!!! This is owned by the same family that owns Cool River Adventures & Tubing. This picture is of my husband and son when he was 4 years old.
